Do you want to earn a few bragging rights? It's simple. Simply test your MINI Clubman accelerations time, of course, in a hands-free as well as fully automated way. What's more, post the Clubman 0-60 time to your leaderboard.
The leaderboard will feature accuracy to the millisecond and display your position in comparison to other users in real time. Also, it'll save for you lots of acceleration times from various models.
The Mini Clubman succeeds the Mk1 Clubman and comes as the biggest Mini ever. It has four conventional passenger doors with no asymmetric ‘Clubdoor’ this time. At the back, there’s still a pair of cupboard doors. What makes this Mini different is not only the 270 mm increase in length, but also the 30 mm increase in width. This is somewhat a BMW 2-Series Active Tourer in a suit. It offers more space, family utilities and a broader platform.
The current Clubman features all the essential of a Mini. The steering wheel is as weighty, the driving position is lowered and the manual gearshift is still as snickety. The extra 125 kgs on it mean that it’s less fun to drive. It comes with a longer wheelbase that fits its purpose. However, the car loses the ‘go-kart feel’ experienced in the standard Mini. The Cooper S comes with the BMW-based 2.0 litre 4-port engine. Despite it being quite the hot cake at its launch, it’s extremely slow. It takes 8.20 seconds to hit the 60mph mark.
This makes the regular Cooper a gem worth having instead. Its 1.5-litre turbocharged engine delivers more for less. It produces about 170 lb-ft of torque, meaning that it’s somehow better off.
The Clubman becomes the first Mini to offer a well-fixated center console. This translates to better storage. iDrive controls have been fixed at the trench that exists between the two front seats. This means that you can operate them without offering much concentration. They don’t require as much patience as expected. All Clubman models come with a BMW-grade satellite navigation system.
The interior design and materials used show that the automaker put into thought whatever he was doing. The Clubman is a good BMW-bleatingly exemplary. However, the thick rear doors do take away much of the ability to see. There exists a great bar that hinders the back-passenger’s rear-view vision. The cargo space is similar to that of the BMW 1-Series, providing about 360 liters of space.
The 2018 Mini Countryman is available in front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive. It comes as a hatchback/wagon and distinguishes itself from the others by having barn-style doors towards its back. Conventional hatchbacks/wagon feature a traditional hatch.
For the budget-savvy consumer, the Cooper D would be the best option. Its fuel-economy ratings stand at 68.9mpg and the car emits 109g/km of CO2. However, the cheapest Mini is the 1.5-liter Cooper which goes for less than $20,000. It emits about 120g/km of CO2 and stands at 55mpg in fuel economy ratings. However, consumers are expected to add a number of options to their Clubman.
